FAQ Album update

TL;DR: I'm finally working on my album after my daughter was born. I expect a first mix soon and the full release by year's end. You can get your merch now or wait for it with the album. Updates on my website, social media, and occasional emails. Check out my funk project's new single and catch me on tour this summer!

Hi everyone!

I wanted to send an update in the form of an FAQ so let’s get it started!

“Reverend Doctor, it’s been a long time, where’s your music??”

Thanks for asking! I’m excited, you’re excited, we’re all excited! The thing that delayed everything was the birth of my first kid, Zora Justice Rollins. She’s 8 months old! Which is about as long as it’s been since you donated to my campaign. I did take about a 4 month window between her birth and when I actually began work on the rest of the album. I hope to have a first mix within the next week or so and hope to be able to organize its release before the end of the year. Optimistically, by the time Zora turns one year old. I appreciate your enthusiasm and patience, and I can’t wait to show you the music!

“Where are my shirts/prizes/buttons/stickers etc?”

I naively and optimistically hoped I’d be able to send everything out to everyone as one giant neatly-wrapped package and I can still do that. But it will take waiting for the album to finish post, being pressed, packaged, shipped TO me, and then re-wrapped and packaged with all your goodies and then sent with love and care out to you. So, consider this my survey: Would you like for me to send out your shirts/buttons/thank-yous before the album is done, or would you like to receive everything at the same time? Comment below.

“Where can I get updates?”

I announce my updates on social media when I can, but I’ve been blogging about my experiences recording this album on my website here. I try to respect folks inboxes and have decided that email is only for broad updates and big announcements.

“Any other new annoucements?”

My funk project, Gold Shimmer, just released our 8th single and is available for streaming everywhere. I sing a verse, so if you’re starved for my creative vibe, perhaps you can whet your appetite there. We’re going on tour later this summer up the west coast and over into Arizona. I have a busy summer of shows here in Long Beach and I’m sneaking a few more cover songs into the album for y’all.

“When can I see you in my town??"

I’m toying with putting together a small band to tour the album with. I’ll gauge the reception when it’s out. Are you interested?? Comment below and let me know where I should think about coming to.
